Hajillo’s

“Arroz con mango” (rice with mango) is usually known as a confusing mess no one understands. Until you reach this restaurant and try Chef Felicia Santana’s version. He mixes aromas, textures and flavors by serving shots filled with mixed vegetables and chopped fruits to accompany cooked rice with chicken curry. In addition to Hajillo’s signature dish, other recommended dishes include the queso relleno; pastel de chucho (a Caribbean dish of plantains, fish, peppers and more); and plato navideño, served during the Christmas holidays. For a sweet finish, try the frutas en almíbar (fruit in syrup).
