La Querencia, Miguel Angel Guerrero’s Baja Med restaurant, is lined with stuffed deer heads, trophy fish and even a small black bear, just a few of the camo-jacketed chef's hunting conquests and potential entrees on the day's menu. The chef coined and trademarked the term "Baja Med" - the combination of Asian and Mediterranean cuisine with regional ingredients and flavors. It has since become synonymous with the regional cuisine of Tijuana and Ensenada. When Miguel Angel isn't at the helm at one of his restaurants, he can be found traveling down the rugged Baja peninsula on fishing and hunting expeditions.
