Ventorrillo El Chato
Tapas

There are a number of fantastic and ridiculous stories about the invention of Tapas and most of them involve Kings walking into bars. My absolute favorite is this one where Tapas might have been invented by Fernando the VII in 1780 with his fantastically named pal “Brother Manzanilla” at the legendary Ventorillo del Chato near Cadiz. Of the 1/2 dozen stories out there, this is the only one related to an actual restaurant that you can still visit and try Tapas in an ancient environment.
