It’s all about the meat at the Moody Sow Farm Shop, which cures and smokes its bacon as well as makes fresh sausages from pigs that range free in the woodland next to the shop. The owners also source their beef, lamb and poultry from local farms to celebrate Welsh ingredients. Their award-winning Scotch eggs are worth a detour to this farm shop on the edge of Cardiff. Crisp crumbed with a sausage meat and golden egg filling, there are four varieties to pick from. In addition to the classic style, varieties feature brie, grape and stilton, but my favorite is the black pudding variety.
