Hot dogs (Danish: pølse) are the number one street food in Denmark. There are hot dog carts and stands all over the Copenhagen city center, but you’ll find one of the best ones at the stand near the Round Tower – Den Økologiske Pølsemand (DØP). Instead of the standard white bread, their hot dogs are served in a sourdough bun, which adds a nice texture. If you’re not into the classic pork sausage, they have a large selection ranging from beef to goat, chicken, and even vegetarian varieties.
