Barrafina
This tiny, no-reservations tapas bar on Adelaide Street in London has been named Britain's best restaurant by the National Restaurant Awards. Headed by Spanish chef Nieves Barragán Mohacho, the ultra-popular Spanish tapas bar in the heart of Soho offers a menu inspired by classic Spanish dishes, from salt cod fritters to Iberian-style pork ribs. With only 23 seats, the bar is packing them in with their famous, lip-licking freshly fried salt cod fritters. Perfectly tender on the inside, crisp and salty on the outside, the fritters are lightly flavored and accompanied by a tangy, creamy tartar sauce. Served in a vibrant, fun atmosphere with excellent service, the food is brilliant.
