This contemporary Japanese tapas and sushi restaurant in the Marylebone area of London was originally based on the traditional Japanese Izakaya style of cuisine. However, Dinings has created a new style of Izakaya; Japanese tapas that combines traditional Japanese with modern European cuisine. Executive chef Masaki Sugisaki and head chef Keiji Fuku display plenty of Latin flair along with other innovative flourishes. Diners pack one of the tables in the basement or a stool at the street-level sushi counter. Choices range from seared wagyu beef nigiri garnished with cubes of ponzu jelly and minced truffle to Iberian pork shabu-shabu with cress salad and chojang sauce and Cornish crab croquettes served with smoked paprika relish. Reservations are taken a month in advance. Prices range from £36 to £74.
