Electric Diner
Adjacent to one of the oldest cinemas in London and downstairs from the Electric House, this French-American eatery in Notting Hill features an all-day menu, long bar, exposed brick and concrete walls, red leather booths, grey ceiling and a lively open kitchen. Be prepared for shouted orders, gossiping hipsters, sizzling flat-top grills and music streaming from speakers set in every booth. The menu at this “gourmet greasy spoon” can be confusing. The single cheeseburger is actually a double, the double is actually a triple, and it arrives on a small plate with a sharp knife sticking out of it. They say they won't cook it medium-rare. But if they accidentally do, bow down and worship front of one of the world's great burgers imported from Au Cheval Chicago.
