Casa Carola
This little taverna may seem simple on paper, but it is anything but. It serves just one set meal, the Cocido Madrileno, and keeps things simple with pricing. But this is a good thing, believe us. On entry you will be given a welcoming glass of Cava and a small Cocido croquette appetiser, before settling down in the cozy but well-designed restaurant. The main course comes as a hearty vermicelli broth beside yearling beef and chicken, chorizo, homemade black pudding, Iberian pork fat, pork knuckle and beef bone marrow - it is warming, filling and utterly satisfying. The price of the meal also includes dessert, coffee and shot of liqueur, so it’s excellent value at €29.00.
