Casa Ciriaco
Cocido

This legendary restaurant is still going strong after over a century of service. It has a tumultuous past, playing witness to assassination attempts (the bombing of King Alfonso XIII in 1906), hosting literary giants, and was the home and meeting place for the pre-Civil War intelligencia. But nowadays it has settled down somewhat and focussed on its classical cuisine. Excellent dishes of Cocido which are on offer are the chicken fricassee which is succulent and moist, the classic and homely Madrid stew (cocido) or the beans with partridge which is a restaurant favourite.
