Set in the city’s upmarket riverside district of Puerta Madera, Chila is housed in an impressive modern space, complete with large, open kitchen, where Nardelli puts a modern twist on traditional Argentine dishes. Using contemporary cooking techniques while staying true to pure flavor, Chila was listed on the Latin America's 50 Best Restaurant list in 2013, 2014 and 2015. Fans recommend the Revuelto Gramajo. This solid meal with scrambled eggs, ham and potatoes is named after its inventor, Artemio Gramajo. FUSION
Medina
Café Medina is arguably the most iconic brunch spot in downtown that's not fine dining, yet still refined. It is open for breakfast, brunch and lunch and there is always a line up. The menu is modern and the execution and ambiance sophisticated. The Harissa “Burger,” with two fried eggs, preserved lemon and Harissa spiced beef in a grilled pita with Parmesan, tomato salsa, spiced hummus, baba ganoush and seasonal greens is delicious and unique to the restaurant. The fricassee and smoked salmon are also excellent and will forever remain on the menu. People love the Liège waffles here, but they're not made in house and actually are from Damien's Belgian Waffles in Richmond, BC (a 20-minute drive from downtown).

Pancham Puriwala
Pancham Puriwala, established in the 1840s by Pancham Sharma, is arguably the oldest running restaurant in Mumbai. The small, two-storied restaurant opposite the historic Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus station is a no-frills, unairconditioned place with shared seating. Fans are lured by the Indian flatbread. More than 4,000 puris are fried fresh every day. There are three versions: sada (plain), masala and palak. These come with a variety of vegetarian side dishes or you can go in for the full-blown thali. The vegetables are made every day and nothing is stored overnight, one reason why they didn't keep a refrigerator until recently. Meal prices range between ₹ 60 to ₹ 160. Fans also recommend the lassi and buttermilk.

Marksman Public House
Chefs Tom Harris and Jon Rotheram, who trained under Fergus Henderson at St. John, are turning out classic British fare in this 150-year-old Victorian pub Hackney Road in East London. The pub’s original mahogany bar is stocked with Vieille Prune, Fernet-Branca, Martini Rosso and more. Diners can choose between a seat at the private dining table in the basement kitchen and the more modern dining room upstairs. The menu, chockful of curries, oysters, buns and braises, includes a blend of classic and modern pub fare. Traditionalists rave about the barley buns, hearty parcels of toasted barley, onions, pickled walnuts and minced beef encased in a bun that is baked, steamed and served with horseradish cream. Modernists recommend the goat curry with fermented potato sourdough bread, tomato chutney and fried potatoes instead of rice. An all-day brunch is offered Saturdays in the pub while Sundays feature a set roast menu in the upstairs dining room.

Brunswick House
This boho-chic restaurant is situated in a Georgian mansion that was the former home to the Dukes of Brunswick. Built in 1758 on three acres of riverside parkland, it now sits amid the noisy chaos of the massive St. George Wharf complex of Vauxhall Cross. Acquired by The London Architectural Salvage and Supply Company in 2004, the home was restored to its former glory and used by LASSCO to sell architectural salvage. After perusing the bric-a-brac on offer, young professionals pack the restaurant adorned with an eclectic mishmash of chandeliers and banquets for a glimpse of Vauxhall’s elegant past. Chef Jackson Boxer’s quirky British menu is updated daily. Diners tuck into such dishes as chargrilled lamb with purple sprouting broccoli, chilli and yogurt (£16.8). Wine, cocktails, coffee, tea and snacks are available all day in the bar or on the terrace.
