Las Delicias
Although Curicó is famous for this exceptionally sweet dessert that combines layers of manjar (Chile’s version of dulce de leche) with thin, flaky, wafer-like layers of baked dough, not all Tortas Mil Hojas are created equally. The torta at Las Delicias is, hands down, the leader of the pack in Curicó. Though chock full of manjar and flaky dough, they add a layer of citrus-laced cream in the middle of the cake, which offers a different texture, and helps to offset the overwhelming sweetness. Sure, there are other desserts in town, but why wouldn’t you want to eat the dessert that put Curicó on the map?
