Sturehof
Herring

Sturehof, Stockholm’s first seafood restaurant, traces its history back more than a century. With roots in French and Swedish cuisine, the menu is focused on fish and seafood, follows the seasons and preserves the traditions of Swedish Husmanskost (traditional fare). Many of the items featured on the menu today – such as bouillabaisse, sotare (grilled Baltic herring), assiettes assorties (charcuterie), strömming (small fried Baltic herring), turbot with browned butter and a daily selection of traditional Swedish fare – date to the restaurant’s early days. Order the marvelous platter of fried Baltic herring with browned butter and potato puree.
