Régis et Jacques Marcon, set on a wooded hill near Saint Bonnet Le Froid, is among the top three-Michelin-star restaurants in France. Known for exceptional regional gastronomy, the restaurant was awarded its first Michelin star in 1990, its second in 1997 and its third in 2005, which it has retained ever since. Making guests feel at home, Régis and his wife, Michèle, greet and accompany diners to their table while their son, Jacques, and his team create the ultimate in French cuisine. In the 50-seat dining room, which has floor-to-ceil windows offering a panoramic view of the mountains, Régis pays tribute to Mother Nature’s flora and fauna, especially hand-picked mushrooms. The seasonal menu highlights such dishes as lobster cassoulet with Puy green lentils; poached egg and truffle sauce; crispy brochette (breaded and fried) sweetbreads; lamb en croute; and quail-stuffed pie with crayfish.
