Milk Pie (Galatopita)
The most famous region for Greek pies is probably Epirus, in the North-western mountainous region of Greece. The owners of "Pites tis Sophias' introduce us to the best of that tradition adding a few exciting modern twists. Although it's difficult to choose a favorite because both savory and sweet pies are delicious, I am particularly fond of the milk pie (galatopita). It is sweet, custard like pie with a bit velvety texture and a wonderful rich flavor, made with everyday ingredients: phyllo, milk, butter and eggs.
