Tradicion Paucarpata
Menestrón

Five days of the week and each with their own soup: a tradition set in stone in Arequipa. The best of these is the Thursday Menestrón, and this little picantería tucked behind the church on the Paucarpata plaza cooks up a version that makes the trip to this village on the outskirts of the city well worth it. The raw green colour of the soup is made up of basil, spinach and cilantro and packs a serious flavour punch; a plethora of vegetables, some noodles for fun and beef belly makes this serious eating. And this is only the starter.
