Cacao de Origen
Angels must drink steaming hot chocolate in heaven. We get to enjoy mugs of this celestial elixir at Cacao de Origen, a little corner in Hacienda La Trinidad. Rich dark chocolate – without spices – is slow-cooked, stirred with a wooden spoon and poured to be the perfect creamy companion for a delicious square of pound cake and pleasing conversation. A showcase for small and medium producers of cocoa and fine chocolates, you can sign up for organized lectures and tastings. The mezzanine includes bean-to-bar, limited-edition fine chocolates made with cocoa beans from regions around the country. Consider buying the Chuao 70% chocolate bar. Handmade with cacao from the 2013 San Benito Harvest of the Empresa Campesina de Chuao, it has a delicate cacao taste scented with juicy cherry, lemon and orange. Melt it on your tongue and enjoy the explosion of flavors and delicious aftertaste. It is one of the few chocolates made with cacao from Chuao available in Venezuela.
