Tostadas de Coyoacán
Tostadas
Tostadas de Coyoacán is a locally famous institution in the middle of the market once frequented by Frida Kahlo, whose house/museum is nearby. This wildly popular stand, which, in recent years has expanded to include several nearby, is a gastronomic art installation – more than a dozen huge plates of mouth-watering tostada toppings are on display. Both meat and seafood is offered, served piled high on a crispy fried tortilla and augmented with one of several sauces. These delicacies are a culinary highlight of Mexico City.
