Finca Altozano

Finca Altozano is top Tijuana chef Javier Plascencia's seasonal campestre kitchen. Reservations are strongly recommended for weekends, as the rustic outdoor venue is packed with Baja locals, diners from mainland Mexico and day-trippers from Southern California. Don’t miss Plascencia’s superb borrego de Rancho Cortes ala caja China, young lamb cooked whole in a China box. Seasoned and served with serrano chilies, potato and a sprig of rosemary, the tender meat practically falls off the bone into a waiting handmade corn tortilla. The large wine storage barrels on the perimeter of the property provide a great spot in which to enjoy a glass of Baja wine and watch the sun set over the Valle.
