Country House Café is nestled in a rustic house on the south coast of Barbados. Owned by Heather Richardson, who was born and raised in the Caribbean and grew up in the rich culture of Caribbean cuisine, this picturesque spot is not to be missed. The name suits the restaurant perfectly, as when entering it gives the feeling of walking into a home as one is greeted with pleasant smiles, “Good mornings” and the decadent smell of freshly baked cinnamon rolls with local grated coconut on top. Clients are offered a selection of freshly squeezed local, organic juices such as soursop (a large green heart-shaped fruit with a tangy flavour, used in drinks, desserts and ice creams here in the Caribbean), tamarind and golden apple juice. Paired with eggs benedict on homemade bread topped with thick hollandaise sauce, the day starts off on the right foot.
