Prime Cuts Irish Butchers
The name of the shop, whose shelves are snug with all manner of imported, beloved sweets and savouries, is meant to refer to the butcher's handiwork. If your lamb chops must be trimmed just so, you've come to the right place. "Prime cuts," however, also suits these thickly squared-off spuds, which are gently fried to a pale gold that leaves them soft within. The tangy curry is served on the side, so you can lay off the sauce till the moment of truth. (Soggy chips are a crime.) Cheese on top is an option - I prefer my chips and curry without, as shown here - but when the counterman asks, "Salt and vinegar, lad?", the proper response is "please."
