The coconut cake at Peninsula Grill has gotten a lot of attention from the national media such as Bon Appetit, Saveur, Martha Stewart Living, and The New York Times. Sometimes too much publicity can be bad but in this case it is well deserved. It has 12 layers and is creamy and in that perfect spot of not too light and not too dense. One slice will fill up 2-3 people....large slices. You don't have to eat dinner to get the cake. You can walk in to the bar at the entrance of the restaurant and have a seat and just order dessert.
