Husband and wife team Ori Menashe and pastry chef Genevieve Gergis have built an Italian destination in downtown L.A.’s Art District. Influenced by Mediterranean flavors and California ingredients, the multi-regional rustic Italian restaurant focuses on a “from scratch” approach, offering house-made charcuterie, handmade pastas and pizza made in an Acunto oven. One of their most triumphant dishes stars Niman Ranch beef tongue, which is pressure-cooked, seared a la plancha and paired with lentils, tangy salsa verde, punchy fermented chiles and pickled eggplant.
