Open Friday through Monday, this out-of-the-way bakery is worth the journey to the tiny town of Freestone. Wild Flour is popular among food lovers throughout the area for its delicious organic sweet and savory sourdough bread. The bakery produces 900 loaves a day from its wood-fired oven, which delivers a thick crust full of flavor. But the true gem here is the Fougasse. While the ingredients change slightly throughout the year, it typically contains one to three cheeses, potatoes, herbs and, sometimes, sweet peppers and onions. You can make a meal from this delicious, dense bread.
