Cowbell
Chef, philosopher, social entrepreneur and teacher Brack May opened Cowbell on Oak Street in 2011. The short menu in the casual former gas station includes Quahog clam chowder, lime-grilled organic chicken, a barbecue ribeye and more. May changes his menu weekly, but this particular version of his Adult Styled Grilled Cheese sandwich featured manchego cheese with thin slices of roasted organic squash pressed between two, thick slices of perfectly buttery and crispy ciabatta served with a cup of curry plantain soup chockful of mango jerk chicken. Other versions have included rustic Italian country bread, goat cheese, grilled asparagus and house-made tomato jam with a cup of black bean soup. At their motto says, you’ll “Eat Happy.”
