The creamiest fresh tofu in all of Queens comes from a most unlikely location, a cart tucked into the facade of a Chinatown florist. The "flower tofu" — or dou hua — is a well-known sweet treat in Chinese communities. Served with your choice of sweet ginger syrup or a spicy sauce singing with the flavors of chili, scallions, pickled vegetables and dried shrimp, the cloudlike bean curd makes a fine breakfast or anytime snack.
