Westward Little Gull Grocery

A boat-shaped bar (inspired by Wes Anderson), a waterfront firepit, an oyster bar, and a roaring wood fire in the open kitchen: Westward impresses on first glance. Thankfully, it also impresses in the glass with cocktails such as the Casablanca—essentially a pickle juice martini spiked with ras-al-hanout—and on the table with Mediterranean flavors melding with Northwest ingredients. Sweet Oregon shrimp salad beats the heat on a hot day; while the whole roasted trout with marcona armandine, fresh out of the wood fire, warms every belly at the table. Westward manages to combine the best of everything about Seattle into one restaurant: stunning seafood, tasty views, and a laidback atmosphere that doesn’t sacrifice any of the classiness of the joint.
