Located in an old bank building barely inside the city limits, the Southwest Diner hit pay dirt quickly with dishes like the huevos rancheros. A corn tortilla, the excellent refried beans, salsa both green and spicy or red and even more revealing of the depth of chile pepper flavor and topped with eggs cooked to your choice, it makes the rest of the day bearable, maybe even great.
