Market St
Just a stones throw away from the Adelaide Central is Market St off Gouger Street on... you guessed it, Market Street—now that's a lot of 'market' and 'street' in the one sentence—a one stop shop for your bakery and deli needs with an in house cafe so you can do your shopping and grab a coffee and bite to eat all at the same time! They bake all their breads on site and have a dessert cabinet that will make all dessert lovers weak at the knees once their eyes catch a glimpse of all the pretty and delicious sweet inventions on offer. Their savoury options are delightful, especially their monster steak sandwich with marinated eye fillet, mushroom omelette, caramelised onion, rocket and tomato jam. A delicious and gourmet sandwich, so big that a steak knife was stabbed through the centre, just to make sure the burger didn't fall apart as it made its way from the kitchen. It came complete with crispy kipfler frites to complete the decadent lunch meal. A lovely little spot for an affordable feed; it's also a great and quality spot for coffee.

Smokestak
Explore London’s heaving street food scene and you’ll find no shortage of meat on offer. Smokestak’s grill maestro David Carter knows this is all the more reason to do it well. How does he go about it? By using top-quality ingredients and keeping it simple. The USDA prime beef rib is so wonderfully seasoned it is as immensely enjoyable without sauce as it is with. Bite into the peppery coating to be greeted by tender, melt-in-the-mouth meat with a tremendous depth of flavor. It’s no wonder Smokestak are leading the way when it comes to London’s street meats.

SEAFOOD
Crabs Are Coming
Nestled just behind Bolshaya Nikitskaya on the narrow alleyway of Kalashniy Pereulok, Crabs are Coming focuses entirely on dishes made from Far Eastern crab. While simple, the menu offers small plates, soups, noodle and grain dishes and a good range of fresh lemonades and local beers. Among my favorites is the Crab Rangoon. I’m not alone in enjoying them. They are often sold out early in the evening. Seating is limited in this bijou eatery, and the best time to be assured a seat is in the quieter period of 2 to 6 p.m. As always with Moscow, the downside is the service, which can be indifferent to downright surly. Still, the fresh crab and consistently good quality of the tried-and-true menu items make that a gauntlet worth running.

SANDWICH
The Bacon Truck
The Bacon Truck is more than just bacon - it's a great sandwich truck. Yes, all the sandwiches have bacon and they use exclusively thick cut, applewood smoked bacon from Blackstone St. Smokehouse. Using a nicely toasted bread and fresh ingredients, you can't go wrong with any of the sandwiches here, but try The Cuban when it appears on the menu. The bread is not traditional for a Cubano, but the crunchy, toasted bread is satisfying to bite into, and sandwiches tender roast pork shoulder, crispy bacon, garlic pickles, muenster cheese and whole grain mustard. Any of their sandwiches will make an amazing lunch any day.

DUCK
Sean's Kitchen
One of the new go-to hot spots in Radelaide hails from chef Sean Connolly, one of Australia and New Zealand's most respected chefs. With a string of restaurants behind him, Sean has turned his attention to Adelaide and opened up his new personal venture in the historic building of the Adelaide Casino. The venue is modern, contemporary and sophisticated yet casual and relaxed. Seating is both indoors and outdoors with the latter being along Station Road, steps away from Adelaide's Riverbank Footbridge and the Torrens River/Elder Park. There's an open kitchen and a museum of ham on display ... yes, a museum of ham! The must-order item from their menu is the duck liver parfait and brioche. The duck liver parfait is presented in the cutest jar; it is creamy, silky and so velvety smooth with a layer of sweet jelly on top; served with a thick slice of toasted brioche and mini pickles to help balance the richness. Delicious! You'll be guaranteed a lovely experience with attentive and accommodating staff and, most importantly, great food, simple, honest and fresh. Along with the bill, you'll be given packets of seeds to take home!

REGIONAL SPECIALTY
La Casa Bistro
La Casa Bistro on Los Palos Grandes, a residential and commercial area full of nice restaurants and trendy cafes, has a unique concept: “Hecho en Casa.” Almost everything you eat here is homemade. This is a bistro with a good interpretation of dishes that are usually eaten in Caracas. From his kitchen, Francisco Abenante produces an incredible variety of French breads, extraordinary butter and delicious cured meats. Some blocks away, the restaurant’s roof garden provides unique vegetables and herbs. Favorites for breakfast are the arepas with cazuelitas and scrumptious fillings. For lunch, try the asado negro slow-cooked with papelón sauce. You can find good sandwiches nearly everywhere in the city, but the one with brisket and lamb’s lettuce at La Casa is a winner. Close your eyes and enjoy a surprisingly soft, slow-cooked meat rich in taste, layered with crisp lettuce, caramelized onions and BBQ sauce. Without a doubt, this is the best Venezuelan food restaurant in Caracas.

BURGER
Nordburger
Nordburger's popularity has soared and now they’ve opened a second burger joint at a larger location. Their famous burger is the Nordburger, a simple classic-style burger extremely well. A juicy beef patty with pickles, tomato, lettuce, mustard, ketchup and nord sauce are crafted between two perfectly toasted buns. And the best accompaniment with a burger? A side of crispy crinkle-cut chips. Vegetarians or carnivores who want to mix things up are in for a treat with the mushroom burger. The panko-crumbed portobello mushroom is amazingly moreish with an earth-shattering crunch and juicy, meaty mushroom meat in every mouthful. There's also a handful of Doc’s coleslaw for extra crunch and along with a trio of sauces: mustard, ketchup and nord sauce. Wash everything down with a soda or shake in classic chocolate, strawberry and vanilla flavors. Or, if you’re more adventurous, they’ve got pretzel, cornflake, salted caramel or good ol’ peanut butter and jelly. You'll be a satisfied chap with a meal that won't break the bank.
