Fried Chicken

This is the last of 16 original teahouses in Atlanta and is a defining southern foodie experience since 1945. Mary Mac’s has a slate of memorable items, like the “pot Likker” which is the leftover broth from cooking collard greens, which were discarded by plantation owners and coveted by slaves as the best part. It is the Fried chicken that demands the visit however, it is dry and crunchy on the outside and succulent and juicy on the inside. Order with the luscious Fried Green tomatoes or fried okra and swoon. This is a global culinary landmark that must be visited and paid homage to.
